Taking Care of Your Health - and Your Baby’s
When you are pregnant it is important that you take care
of your health and your baby’s health. If you
have a healthy pregnancy then you are more likely to have an easier birth and a
healthy baby. From the minute you find
out you are pregnant (even before, while you are trying to fall pregnant) you
should take good care of yourself.
This is all called Prenatal care. A good gynecologist will talk to you about the things you should do to
ensure a healthy pregnancy. This
includes a healthy diet, regular exercise, lots of sleep and going to the
doctor for monthly consultations, or as advised.
If you are in Dubai, you have the Dr. Zainab Alazzawi
clinic, the best clinic for pre and post natal care in the UAE. Dr. Zainab Alazzawi is an excellent gynecologist in Sharjah Al Nahda and has a team of gynecologists, obstetricians and
women’s health care specialists on her
team. When you are pregnant, your doctor
will assess you, weigh you and measure you.
At each appointment they will do the same, as well as checking your
blood pressure, checking your urine and sugar levels, and sometimes doing blood
tests. You will also have pelvic
examinations and ultrasounds to assess your baby’s growth and progress.
Your gynecologist will tell you how often you should
come fr a pre-natal visit. At the Dr.
Zainab Alazzawi clinic it is usually recommended that you come in monthly, and
then for the last two months, every two weeks.
Of course it will differ depending on your pregnancy.
A good gynecologist will communicate with you. She will discuss your options for birth and
talk to you about how to care for your baby once you have given birth. You can discuss a natural birth, a cesarean and the implications of both. This is
all part of the pre-natal care and you should always discuss any concerns you
may have, and ask as many questions as you want.
It’s
always a good idea to read up about pregnancy.
You may not know how much weight is normal to gain. Ask your doctor. If you think you are putting on too much, or
not enough, ask your doctor. And again,
a good gynecologist will tell you all these things in advance and will monitor
and measure you all the way through your pregnancy.
Read up about diet, vitamins and nutrients. Your gynecologist in Sharjah Al Nahda will give you suggestions about
diet and exercise, and will also tell you what to expect from a point of
morning sickness or exhaustion. The
first three months of pregnancy can be exhausting, and you should get all the
rest you can.
Take care of yourself and you will automatically be
taking care of your baby. See your gynecologist regularly and remember, enjoy
this special time too. Good luck and welcome to the world, new little boy or
girl!
